It's a nice hotel, but not my favorite. I always like going to the Bellagio. I took some pictures of that hotel too, but I'll post them later.

Time to Garden - Tomatoes are planted today

Today I spent most of the morning in my garden, cleaning up the weeds, and getting the soil ready to plant tomatoes. I am using my parents' backyard, since I live in an upstairs condo, with no patio or balcony.

I have been planting tomatoes, and other vegetables in their backyard for several years now. It started back when I used to live there, and now I keep coming back to plant so that they (and I) can have fresh vegetables.

It's getting a little harder to keep the garden going, since I don't live there, so now I just plant tomatoes. Those are the easiest to grow, and my parents really like them.

There's not much to see now, but when the plants get a little bigger, I'll post some pictures.

Earth Hour Last Night, Did you turn off your lights?

I guess I missed Earth Hour last night. I wasn't even aware that this was going on, but I guess it was started back in 2007 by the World Wide Fund for Nature and takes place on the last Saturday in March. It was started to get people to realize what an impact we are having on our environment.

What did you do last night during Earth Hour? Did you remember to turn off your lights and other electrical appliances?

Vegas Vacation was a Blast!

I just came back from Las Vegas, I was there for 3 days. I had a great time, mostly because I won some money $$$. I was so lucky.

The first day I won $900 on the Monopoly slots. The 2nd day I won $300 at Bingo, and $250 on the Wheel of Fortune slot machines. The 3rd day I won 2 Bingo's, one at $125 and another at $50.

This had to be the best run of luck I've ever had. I was lucky all 3 days. Usually I lose, or if I win, it's only on 1 of the 3 days.

Tomorrow it's back to reality and back to work. But at least I had a nice 3 day vacation to escape my every day life and have some fun.

Damn Checking Account

A crusty old man walks into a bank and says to the woman at the
window, "I want to open a damn checking account."
The astonished woman replies, "I beg your pardon, sir. I must have
misunderstood you. What did you say?"
"Listen up, damn it. I said I want to open a damn checking account
now!"
"I'm very sorry sir, but that kind of language is not tolerated in
this bank."
The teller leaves the window and goes over to the bank manager to
inform him of her situation. The manager agrees that the teller does
not have to listen to that foul language.

They both return to the window and the manager asks the old
geezer, "Sir, what seems to be the problem here?"

"There is no damn problem." the man says. "I just won $200 million
bucks in the damn lottery, and I want to put my damn money in this
damn bank."

"I see," says the manager, "and is this bitch giving you a hard
time?"

No Time for Dropping or Posting

I've been helping my parent's clean out their house, since they're getting new carpet and painting all the rooms. I will still try to post whenever I can, especially for Favorite Fridays. But I won't be able to drop any entrecards for a couple of days. I'm staying with them for a few days and since their computer is out in the garage, I have to borrow my brother's computer.

Daylight Savings - Spring Forward

Today is Daylight Savings, which means that if you live in participating areas of the U.S. and Canada, you have to move your clocks ahead one hour. If you forget, you'll end up being 1 hour late wherever you go.

It's a song from 1984 by a group called Alphaville, and the song is titled:

It's my favorite because I like the tune, but the words are very meaningful to me. Who doesn't want to live forever, or to be young forever? The first time I heard this song, I knew it would be my favorite - forever.

New Discussion - Favorite Fridays - Contest

I'm Back on the Wii to Lose Weight

I haven't been on my Wii fit for about 2 weeks now, since I was sick. Well today I got back on and was glad to see that I didn't gain that much weight. I gained 1.1 pounds since I last got on the Wii, not bad considering I didn't exercise, and wasn't watching what I was eating.

I thought for sure I would have gained more weight. For almost 2 weeks I was a couch potato, watching TV, and lying in bed for half the day just trying to get well.

Now I'm back on track and will hopefully lose that 1.1 pounds, plus the other 22 pounds I want to lose to reach my goal.
