I'm sure the swine flu is a serious virus, but why does the media have to publicize it like it's the next black plague. It's a flu virus. Yes people have died from it, but people also die from getting the regular flu virus too. And people also recover from the swine flu, just like the regular flu.
Why did so many people die from the swine flu in Mexico? Who knows? But the fact is that people here in the U.S. have gotten the swine flu and recovered from it with no problem.
The Media is scaring people into a panic over something that might just disappear with in a few weeks. After all, there have been reports of swine flu in the past, even "serious" outbreaks of it, but then it just went away, and everyone forgot about it, until now. This is not a new, unknown, virus to be feared. As long as people take care of themselves, and go see their doctor if they think they have the flu, everything will be okay, and we can move on with our lives.

Entrecard Cash Out - What's taking so long???
I've been dropping on Entrecard for a little while now, and I've accumulated quite a few points. So, I decided to sign up for the cash out, and I am still waiting to hear from them. Does anyone know how long this is going to take? I heard that some people have cashed out, but I don't know how long they waited, or when they applied.
I was a little hesitant to apply for cash out because they asked for some personal information, like social security number, but I'm hoping they will not need that information since here in the US we don't have to report the income if it's less than $600.
Anyway, I'm still waiting, and a little curious as to why it's taking so long. I might not even cash out, but if I want to, it's a nice option to have.

Favorite Friday - What's Your Favorite Holiday?

I almost forgot today is Friday.
This week's Favorite Friday topic: Favorite Holiday
What's your favorite holiday? Mine is Christmas of course. I just love opening up presents with my family. I love to see their faces when they open the gifts I got them. I always try to surprise them with something they wouldn't expect me to get them.
What's your favorite holiday? Post your favorites here, all comments are welcome.

2 Earthquakes in Southern California
We had 2 minor earthquakes earlier today here in sunny southern California. According to the USGS earthquake website there was a 3.8 near Yorba Linda, California at around 4:56pm PST, then 2 more, one at 8:27pm and one at 8:28pm, a 4.0 and 3.0 magnitude.
I felt 2 of them a little, but they weren't that big, luckily. They just freak me out because you never know if it's going to get bigger, or stronger. I know I should duck and cover, but my instinct always tells me to run outside, out in the open where nothing can fall on me. I'm not really afraid of the earthquake, I'm afraid of the old, ill constructed buildings falling on me.
I hope there aren't any more tonight. It's always hard for me to fall asleep when I keep thinking there will be another earthquake and crush me in my sleep. All I can do is pray that I will be safe, even if there is another "big one."

Tomorrow's Earth Day, What will you do to Celebrate?

Tomorrow is Earth Day, and I was just thinking if there was anything more I could do to help protect the environment. I recycle almost everything, I try to carpool whenever I can, and I use energy saving bulbs in all my lamps.
If there is anything you do to help the environment, please feel free to comment here. Especially if you have some interesting and uncommon tips that most people wouldn't think of. I would love to learn of some new tips to reduce my carbon footprint.

Favorite Friday - - Who's Your Favorite Celebrity?

This week's favorite Friday topic:
Favorite Celebrity
Who's that one celebrity that you just can't get enough of? Who are you just dying to meet in person?
I have a few favorites, but I think I would chose Neil Patrick Harris. He seems like a nice guy, and I think he's a really funny actor.
Feel free to comment with your favorite celebrity.

Wii Exercise Routine - Weight Loss Update
So I've been pretty good about exercising this past week. Mostly I've been using the Wii to get fit, but I've also been trying to walk more at work - on breaks, or after work. My last weigh in on the Wii had me at 145.9 pounds, which is about 4.2 pounds less than my high of 150.1.
I feel like I'm getting stronger, and more fit, even if the pounds aren't dropping off. Some of the exercising I once found difficult are getting easier to do. Yesterday I even tried the hula hoop for 10 minutes. I thought I was going to die, it was sooooo hard. And today, I can feel my back and stomach muscles aching just a little from working out.
Tomorrow I don't work until 2pm, so I have plenty of time to work out again. I think I'm going to focus on my arms by lifting weights. I haven't done much of that this week, so tomorrow will be a good day to start.

Tax Day April 15 - Have You Finished Your Taxes???
Well the day is finally here. Tax day that is. I finally finished my taxes, and mailed them out today. Just a few days shy of the deadline. I always wait until the last minute, but at least I get them done on time.
For the Federal, I have to pay about $75, but for the State, I am getting a refund of about $550. I should say, I'm supposed to get a refund, but if the state of California doesn't have any money left to pay me, then I may have to wait awhile for my refund. No worries, as long as I get my money. I'm not like most people who desperately need their refund checks to pay their bills. But it would be nice to get that money sooner rather than later.

Easter story
A lady opened her refrigerator and saw a rabbit sitting on one of the shelves.
"What are you doing in there?" She asked.
The rabbit replied: "This is a Westinghouse, isn't it?"
To which the lady replied "Yes."
"Well," the rabbit said, "I'm westing."

I'm Finally Doing My Taxes
I'm finally doing my taxes today. I'm such a huge procrastinator. I do this ever year, and the worst part is that I'm getting a refund, so you'd think I'd hurry up and do them to get my money faster. But no, I choose to wait until the last possible moment, as usual.
Any way, I'm almost done with them, I'm just taking a little break to catch up on my blogging, and dropping.

My Page Rank has gone up to 2 !!!
Oh my gosh! I just noticed that my page rank went up again. Now I'm at 2 instead of 1. I haven't really been trying to increase my rank, but I have been trying to post more often. I'm really excited because this helps me feel like my work has paid off.
Some people say that page rank doesn't matter, but it's still nice to know that I have a rank of 2, and not a 0 or NA like this blog used to have.

My Brother - Off to the Circus Once Again
So my brother left for Montreal last Saturday, after be here in California for 4 weeks. He started working on the newest Cirque du Soleil show which will start in Montreal, then go on to Quebec, Toronto, and all across North America over the next 3 years.
It was nice to have him with us for a month, but it was hard to see him leave, once again. I always cry when he leaves, because I will miss him so much. But I am so happy for him because he really loves his job. He loves working for Cirque, and I'm glad he finally found a job that he enjoys doing.
He will be really busy over the next few months, so I don't think I will see him until October. My parents will fly to Montreal to visit him in June, but since I don't like to fly, I will be staying here.

Curiosity
I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the
patients were shouting, "13...13....13...13".
The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the
planks and looked through to see what was going on.
Some jerk then poked me in the eye with a stick!
Then they all started shouting, "14...14...14...14"…

Nice Relaxing Day in San Diego
Last week I went to San Diego with my family for a nice relaxing day near the ocean. We spent almost 6 hours at a park in La Jolla, which is about 10 miles from San Diego. The weather was so nice, just a few clouds, and a slight wind, but overall it was a beautiful day.
We had lunch in the park, and spent the day relaxing and playing games. Later on we went to Historic Old Town San Diego, where the first California mission was built, and had dinner at one of the great Mexican restaurants there. Old Town is famous for its Mexican food, hand made tortillas, and Grande margaritas. There was a lady making fresh tortillas right outside on the patio of the restaurant, and they would bring them to the table while they were still hot. They were sooooo good.
And of course, I had to try one of their huge margaritas. My mom and I shared it, but my brother also helped. I got the traditional margarita, but he tried their pineapple chipotle flavor which was really good.
San Diego is such a nice city, I always love going there. Some day I think I might like to retire there. Or at least have a nice summer place there, by the beach of course!
